It still has a relatively muted sound but powerful enough and it gives great feedback. Ping put some effort into improving the sound of the Ping G as there were those who were less than thrilled about the G30 acoustics. It is not a traditional crown design so purists may prefer a more conservative look. So yes, it is a bit busy but not in any way distracting or unsightly. The most noticeable features are the turbulators and the lattice design based on the Dragonfly Technology. The feedback suggests that most people fall into the former group and you can never please everyone with aesthetics. There are alternative shaft choices according to your preference and swing speed. This design also works well with the head weight to enhance forgiveness even more. The standard counter-balanced Alta shaft has a marginally narrower tip which also works with the overall aerodynamic design but more noticeable is the little extra kick it gives on impact. The variable-thickness T9S face is another feature that enhances ball speed. It can often let you notch your loft down which provide better ball speeds and greater distance. This CG positioning gives the ultimate forgiveness across the face and also goes a long way to assisting you getting a better loft as allows for a better launch. Yet another benefit is the design enhances the MOI and also improves airflow. It has the deepest and lowest CG of any driver on the market. This saving allowed them to move the Centre of Gravity (CG) even further back and deeper than the already impressive CG of the G30.
